Hearing Loss and Health Disparities

Disparidades en la pérdida de audición

Hearing loss is a growing public health concern with the aging population in general; greater access and affordability of care are needed (NASEM, 2016).

Hearing health care disparities exists in the US for Hispanic/Latinos (Nieman, Marrone, Szanton, Thorpe, & Lin, 2016).

Data on hearing aid use show that 95% of Hispanic/Latino adults with hearing loss are untreated (Arnold et al., 2019).
