The Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences booth at Brainworks– Science City at the Tucson Festival of Books was a success! The department had three different topics represented including audiology, autism, and aphasia. Our department volunteers saw over 300 adults and nearly 200 children. The audiology booth offered education about hearing and noise protection, and measured the sound level from one attendee’s personal music device. Earplugs were given out to participants and interactive coloring worksheets were available for children. Special thanks to our audiology student volunteers: Holden Sanders, Naomi Rhodes, Jason Smith, and Chloe Robbins. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
