Spring 2016 Community Lecture Group

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, the LWHL program held its Spring Community Lecture titled “Hearing Loss and Falls”, presented by Dr. David Velenovsky, PhD, Dr. Liz Cozzi, AuD, and Aimee Guerrero, PT. Our interdisciplinary panel delivered a very informative lecture on the risks of falls associated with hearing loss. Dr. Velenovsky talked about the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, Dr. Cozzi discussed the battery of tests used to evaluate the bal-ance system, and Ms. Guerrero informed us about the rehabilitative options that are used for those with balance disorders. We had over 20 members of the community attend and we look forward to our next lecture in the fall!
